How to install Cobblemon Academy 2.0 on your server

Step 1: access the Reinstallation menu

From your server control panel, go to the Reinstallation menu. This section allows you to completely change the server version and automatically install a ready to use modpack.

Step 2: choose the CurseForge category

In the list of available installation types, select the CurseForge category. This section includes official and maintained modpacks, with reliable automated installation.

Step 3: select Cobblemon Academy 2.0

  • search for Cobblemon Academy 2.0,
  • select the modpack,
  • choose the latest available version,
  • start the reinstallation.

Important: Cobblemon Academy 2.0 uses the Voice Chat mod by default. If Voice Chat is not properly configured, the server will not be able to start. It is therefore essential to continue immediately with the Voice Chat configuration before starting the server for the first time.

Configuring Voice Chat on Cobblemon Academy 2.0

Cobblemon Academy 2.0 uses Voice Chat to enhance immersion and player interactions. This system allows players to talk directly in game, with spatial voice chat: volume depends on the distance between players, greatly reinforcing the roleplay and community aspects.

Step 1: open a port for Voice Chat

In the server management panel, go to the Plugins tab and open a port dedicated to Voice Chat. Once the port is opened, an IP address and a port number are provided.

Step 2: configure the Voice Chat file

Access the server files and open the following file:

config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties

Then edit the following lines:

port=ASSIGNED_PORT
bind_address=YOUR_IP

ASSIGNED_PORT corresponds to the port opened in the Plugins tab, and YOUR_IP corresponds to the IP address provided by the control panel. Save the file once the changes are applied.

Step 3: restart the server

Fully restart the server so the changes can take effect. Voice Chat will then be fully operational for all players who have the mod installed on the client side.
